Sri Vimalananda was born in Romania, where he lived until 1997, leading an ordinary family life.

Since he was a young child, he liked to stay in mouna (the fast of silence) for long periods of time. He liked to meditate and be alone, being in constant immersion in the inner kingdom and having a constant attraction to the divine.
Sri Vimalananda began writing and reading many years before going to school, and over the years he read everything he could find during the communist period.
During the period 1997-2004, he lived and worked in Italy, where he managed to achieve detachment from material life. He got to know the West very well with its order and active life, but also with its materialistic and consumerist tendencies.
There he first encountered the books of Paramahansa Yogananda, which completely changed his life. For more than three years, he attended the Ananda Turin center, affiliated with Ananda Italia, founded by Kriyananda. And now, after many years, there are still friendly relations with many of those who live at Ananda Assisi. After three years of practice, Sri Vimalananda renounced worldly life. He practiced brahmacharya and choosing to live as a monk in India, following the path of Kriya Yoga.
The journey to the East took him to Rishikesh, India, at the foot of the Himalayas. From 2004 to 2010, he lived as a Sannyasi (monk), renunciant in the Swami order. Here Sri Vimalananda practiced Kriya Yoga, learned the Cosmic Astrology of Swami Sriyukteswar and participated in social and charitable activities. For 3 years, he was the one who led the Kriya Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh.
In 2007 Sri Vimalananda was initiated into sannyasi, the traditional monastic order of swamis (founded by Adi Shankaracharya), in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. Then continued in Puri, Orissa, the next day, on the day of the Ratha Yatra celebration and at the Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The first ceremony lasted a day and was performed by a Brahmin. This consisted of mantras and yagna, a fire ceremony, mantras and a ceremony that is performed for a person who is physically dead to this world. From that moment on, a swami lives in the world, but he is no longer part of the world, because he has completed his karma. The next day, the last rites followed very yearly in the morning by many rituals and finally bathing in the Indian Ocean. The monk name given was Swami Vimalananda Giri, which translated means bliss through clarity, through purity, through cleanliness.
This ceremony, once performed, cannot be taken away, denied, canceled… by anyone. In rare cases, however, there have been people who have had to renounce the privileges of the life of a swami.
In 2010, Sri Vimalananda returned to Romania to serve his fellow men and put into practice the sacred teachings he had received.
After a year, he returned to Italy for a period, during which he dedicated himself to spiritual practices. He practiced isolation and study, as well as to the dissolution of karma as vanaprastha.
Consecutively, in 2015, 2016 and 2019, Sri Vimalananda returned to India, where he dedicated himself to meditation and renunciation. He received original Kriya Yoga initiation from his Master in Calcutta.
Currently, Sri Vimalananda lives in Europe, travelling from Romania, ltaly and UK and leading a simple renounced married life. He is following his Para Param Guru instruction with his sahadharmacharini, Rina Devi. Sri Vimalananda is practicing Kriya Yoga and following the teachings of the Kriya Yoga Masters.
